From Yahoo! Sports:

The Melbourne Tigers have lured former top-10 NBA draft pick Jonny Flynn to Australia in one of the biggest signings in NBL history.

A No.6 pick in the 2009 NBA draft, the point guard has been through clubs Minnesota, Houston, Portland and, most recently, Detroit….

Melbourne coach Chris Anstey said Flynn, who stands at 182cm, was fit and ready to fire for the Tigers, who are 1-4 for the season.

Reports from Detroit said he looked “healthy and athletic”. “He’s in his prime and wanted to reinvigorate his career and we’re really excited about what he’s going to bring,” Anstey told the Herald Sun.

Flynn is expected to train with his new teammates this week and could possibly line up against Adelaide at Hisense Arena on Friday night.”

Jonny’s deal reportedly has an out clause to return to the NBA, but I don’t think he’ll need it.

Steph Curry, Ty Lawson, DeMar DeRozan, Brandon Jennings, Jrue Holiday, Jeff Teague, Eric Maynor, Darren Collison, Taj Gibson and Patty Mills were some of the players chosen behind Jonny in the 2009 draft…..

But in all seriousness, a nice get for the Melbourne Tigers.
