Seems like deja vu, really. After being snubbed last year amidst his unquestioned career-best season, Andrew Bogut has again been left out in the cold by coaches selecting the All-Star reserves. Sure it’s been an up-and-down season for the big Aussie thus far, but as the league-leader in blocks and a top-5 rebounder, many (including me) thought he had done enough to warrant his first trip to the All-Star game.
But I’m glad to hear the big man isn’t taking the news to heart. “It’s just the way it is. We’ve got to play really well as a team to have an All-Star. And it’s magnified playing in a small market” Bogut said.
I think he summed it up perfectly there. The Bucks sub-par record combined with the fact they’re one of the NBA’s least sexiest teams, meant it was always going to be an uphill battle for the Bogey Man to impress selectors.
Read plenty more quotes from Bogut and opposition coaches on his snub in this article from NineMSN.
Here’s hoping the big man can use this as fuel to fire up the Bucks second half of the season.

A late comment I know.. but seriously, Al Horford? And more shocking, yet not affecting Bogut was Joe Johnson’s selection. Disgrace.
I seriously don’t see what the big deal is with Horford though.
With all the big aussie has gone through to still be playing at the level he is, this is almost a worse snub than last year.
And I think some of those coaches are talking BS. As much as they say they adore Bogut, they’ve voted for Horford because he’s American.
Horford’s not American, he’s Dominican. And he’s also been superb this season, one of the best 2-way players in the league.
That said, Bogut should easily have made it over either Joe Johnson or Ray Allen (smooth as he is). One of those 2 guys took a utility spot, which should rightfully have gone to the Bogeyman.
Hopefully he comes back next year 100% and tears shit up to the point they can’t shun him any more.
Dominican Republic.. you’re quite right. My bad.
*raises hand*
Superb you say? Hmmm, may have to agree to disagree there though.
