Breaking it down
Worth noting that the One HD schedule is only up till December 2010 (NOW UPDATED WITH JANUARY – APRIL). And yes, there does appear to be a lot more games being shown on One this year. In the above schedule there’s 42 games up to 31st December – last season there were only 26. Which means the 2010-2011 season will have more NBA games shown live to Australian TV audiences than any other season in league history! Extrapolating out the One HD schedule, we’ll get about 160 games in total for the season – smashing last year’s 121 games.
Total games – by team
(and remember this doesn’t include One HD’s full season schedule)
Miami Heat 19
Los Angeles Lakers 18
Milwaukee Bucks 17
Orlando Magic 15
Boston Celtics 13
Phoenix Suns 10
Utah Jazz 9
Portland Trail Blazers 8
Chicago Bulls 8
Oklahoma City Thunder 8
San Antonio Spurs 8
Atlanta Hawks 7
New York Knicks 7
Denver Nuggets 7
Dallas Mavericks 6
New Orleans Hornets 5
Philadelphia 76ers 3
Washington Wizards 3
Houston Rockets 3
Golden State Warriors 2
Los Angeles Clippers 2
Cleveland Cavaliers 1
New Jersey Nets 1
Sacramento Kings 1
Charlotte Bobcats 1
Toronto Raptors 0
Detroit Pistons 0
Memphis Grizzlies 0
Indiana Pacers 0
Minnesota Timberwolves 0
No surprises at the top. The Heat and Lakers with the #1 and #2 spot. But in third spot I was very surprised – pleasantly surprised – to see none other than Mr Bogut’s Milwaukee Bucks. They were in 16th spot last season with only 7 games. It’s fantastic that we’ll get to see the Bucks this many times in 2010-2011 – not only because of the Aussie connection, but because they have become a genuinely exciting team to watch.
It’s interesting to see the Spurs slide this far – they were the third-most broadcast team last season. Obviously Cleveland had the biggest slide, but that is for pretty obvious reasons. They are going to be really really shit. But at least they got a game – the T-Wolves, Pacers, Grizzlies, Raptors, and *gasp* my beloved Pistons were shafted. This is a real kick in the guts for Pistons fans, to be grouped with such mediocre company. It’s genuinely disturbing to know your team isn’t going to be shown live once on Australian TV. Thank God for Pontel.
As we’ve done in the last few years, we’ll keep the current month’s schedule in the sidebar for easy reference. I’ll also update this post when the second half of the season is announced for One HD.
Now go get settled into that comfy couch. We have some serious NBA watching ahead of us!

Now those of us who are too povo for Foxtel can just hope that little worm James Packer doesn’t go ahead with his plans to get rid of OneHD.
The schedule is great, though not sure my marriage can survive that amount of coverage
Nice work Ash
After a recent trip to the states, I’m a convert to the NBA fan base in Australia and I have to say I was positively delighted to find you guys! Thank you for taking the lead of this sensational sport down under. One question, does anybody know of a venue in Sydney who supports NBA by regularly televising it on their screens. I’m looking into hooking up Foxtel, One HD and the internet thing suggested on the blogs page, however, its also great to be out and watching it live with other fans as well over a drink or two! Tnx.
hey i am & hav been a B/Ball fan for ever & i was lucky enough to be in the states for 2010 finals.i watched game 1 at staples against boston wat a experience.i am asking anyone with info on how & where to watch all the nba allstar coverage in sydney for this 2011 season.please if any info pass it on,hopefully b/ball one day gets bigger in this country thank god for 1HD.thanks go the LAKERS!!!
So you’ve just got all of this info from nba.com. Good job.
But you’ve also left out what channel the All-Star game is on and the date!
Muste been a change. OneHd did Raptors @ Bucks game 11 april live
i live in Adelaide so i would be half an hour behind?!
I’m in Adelaide too James, usually there is a half an hour difference. Just check it out on the OneHD website if you want to be sure what time games are, you can put it to Adelaide time.
