Longtime readers of this blog will know of Tizzle, NBAMate’s resident Knicks fan. Over the years he has chimed in to write about his beloved Knicks whether it be during his travels to New York, a tribute to Eddy Curry, or as part of a very intriguing insight into the mind of a 6th grader.
Last year Tizzle (guess I should call him Tobin now) left Aussie shores and traveled to Ghana to teach primary school children. It was an admirable mission, one that few of us would probably have the desire and courage to carry out. Tobin shared some of his stories and photos with us when he returned late last year, and is now single-handedly responsible for a bunch of kids in Ghana running around in Knicks jerseys.
But that was only the tip of the iceberg. Tobin has gathered together a collection of his stories and observations from his time in Ghana and published a book. Now, I don’t know how many of you have tried to publish a book before, but let me tell you it’s no easy feat.
So Tobin, I’d like to personally congratulate you, not only for your selfless efforts in bettering the life of children in Ghana, but for also putting in the hard work to release this book. You must be very proud.
If anyone is interested in reading about Tobin’s life-changing experiences in Ghana hit up this link on Amazon and buy the book. I’ve got my copy on order and look forward to reading more about the adventures of an Aussie Knicks fan in Africa.
