I’d love to see Dragic pull that Hollywood crap in the 80s or 90s. The Bad Boy Pistons would’ve given him a legit reason to roll on the floor clutching his face.

The influx of Euro players has turned the NBA into a flopfest. Absolutely disgusting.

Great read and good calls from everyone. Bummed for Steve, love him, that pull-up 3 at the end of the game was brutal – the guy has just put so much work into his game he’s simply automatic. He hit some amazing shots down the stretch in games during this series. Thank God Frye finally did something in those last 2 games too, that was getting ugly, Rate Dudley too. And Dragic, he’s the man, couple more years and he could be a bit of a serious PG. But Kobe, all those comments are true, he made incredible shots, all tough as jump shots. Bring on the finals!

agreed CP4. very intrigued to see what Kobe has learned from ‘08, and how he attacks the Boston defense. I’m thinking it could be a reenactment of how Jordan finally learnt how to play against the Pistons in ‘90.

I’m still tipping Boston though, for reasons I will explain soon

@Ant, I love Magic, he’s probably the 4th of 5th greatest player of all time in my book. But I think you can mount a serious case for Kobe being a better player. Namely because Magic had massive shortcomings at the defensive end, and he also got schooled in 4 Finals. I’d say if Kobe finishes with 5 rings, and plays at an elite level for another 2-3 years (making it 13-14 elite seasons), he passes Magic. And I winced when I wrote that… maybe 6 rings

nice post rob. i too was pretty gutted for Steve. I think everyone wants to see him succeed, but losing in the WCFs was probably about the best the Suns could do this season.

as for Kobe, he really is playing well. i’m intrigued to see how he plays against Boston for 2 reasons:

1) Has he figured out their defense after what they did to him in ‘08?

2) Will he have more success than Lebron did against them a few weeks back?

@Ant, I think you’ll find a lot of Lakers fans already have Kobe at Magic’s level. he’ll own pretty much every Laker record by the time he’s done. can’t see him not retiring as the greatest Lakers to be honest.
