The news is out – Shaq is going to miss two months with his thumb injury, returning just in time for the playoffs… so the plan goes. With Big Z not able to return (and you better believe he will return) for another month or so, the Cavs are severely depleted on the interior. You know you’re not in a good situation when you need to place heavy reliance on Anderson Varejao. No championship-aspiring team should be forced to do that. Alas, the Cavaliers will be.
So how do you think they’ll cope over the remainder of the season? Will they slide towards the pack in the East? Will they lose home-court throughout the playoffs to the Lakers? Or will Lebron just kick into another gear and make us look stupid for asking this question?
How will the Cavs finish the regular season without Shaq?
- It won't affect them - they'll keep up their winning ways (44%, 39 Votes)
- They'll hold steady but they can kiss the league's best record goodbye (41%, 36 Votes)
- They'll slip to 2nd or 3rd in the East (10%, 9 Votes)
- They're screwed. Without Shaq and Ilgausaks they'll be eaten alive on the inside (5%, 4 Votes)

Why the Varejon hating? I bet every team in the L would rather him playing with you than against you. He’s an absolute menace, hustles like mad and sets briallant picks in the front and back court.
ahhh maybe because he’s a total flopper, a liability on offense, and lacks basic basketball skills.
ha ha Miki you beat me to it.
Whilst taking into account the home truths mentioned above as well as adding that he’s probably the most unco guy in the league. I will say this in Mr. Varejao’s defense, the guy is all elbows and knees. He’d be like playing an unfolded swiss army knife in the piant.
if he was more athletic and could actually block shots he’d be a Birdman-type energy player. as it is, he’s very limited in what he can do.
i say the Cavs will hold onto #1 record in the league. they are on cruise control right now. they are proving they have depth. i think LA should be very worried, whether or not Ilgausaks comes back
