Forget Nicolas Batum’s career-high. The real news from yesterday’s Blazers v Wolves game was Patty Mills’ career-high 8 point explosion (in just four minutes). Want an argument for Patty to get more minutes? How bout the fact that if he had just played a “standard” 36 minutes, at that pace, he would have scored 72 points. That dwarfs Batum’s puny 38 points per 36. I hope you realise this Coach McMillan.
Cheers to Ben for the clip – Patty’s buckets start around the 5:00 mark.

Yet he still had a +/- of -10. Sounds like the definition of junk time.
I wish someone would notice how unreliable and practically useless Jerryd Bayless is…
I want to choke him every time I watch a Blazers game.
The only thing going for him is that he gets to the line and shoots over 80%.
I hope (for Patty’s sake) that the Blazers drop to 10th in the West during the final weeks of the season and start “experimenting”… After all, Houston’s only 4 games behind..
The Blazers have signed another guard. Why I ask.
Would be great to see how Patty would go if he were to play a solid 20-25mins, I reckon he would put up a pretty impressive stat line. But I guess that isn’t going to happen with such a conservative coach in McMillan… Its great that he has gone to a good young team but it would have been better if he went to a team that he could play as the 1st reserve PG instead of the 2nd and previously 3rd.
I just reckon he’s been written off for this year as a meaningful rotation player. Unless he gets packaged up, he’ll have to wait til summer league and pre-season camp to prove himself. I wouldn’t be surprised if the coaching staff like him though.
