You’re looking at him now. Mr 3-time Dunk Champ himself, Nate Robinson.
If this doesn’t kill off the dunk comp completely nothing will.

first time commenting cos i feel very strongly that this was the worst dunk contest i have ever seen, i usually dont hate but the all star dunk comp is something i look forward to every year.
i was expecting great things from demar derozan and he did nothing spectacular. nate robinson did nothing like his other years, i personally feel like noone deserves the trophy and nate does not deserve to go down in history as the only person with 3 dunk comp titles as this barely counts. im pretty sure he didnt deserve the other ones either, i feel like other people got robbed because of nate’s height.
anywho, im babbling on but all i could think of after watching the dunk comp is “wow. dunking isnt exciting.” there is no way anyone should think that, yet i did.
Just a disgrace really…
the whole weekend so far has been complete pish! The celebrity game was a joke and the rookie game was nearly as bad as that! And did anyone else hear those kids screaming the whole way through the rookie game? I was praying for a Ron Artest and Jermain O’Neal type return to the stands to beat the sweet piss out of them just to shut them up!
I don’t enjoy most all-star weekends and this one has been particularly poor so far. Hopefully the game is better.
Next CBA needs a compulsory all-star event clause if selected so the ’stars’ can’t sit out the non-game events. I really don’t know what their issues are – it is not like they are going to get injured.
Best all-star dunker – Dominque Wilkens. Won it twice, robbed twice. Even ignoring the amazing dunks he did with one ball, those two ball windmill dunks he did back in the day no one even attempts these days.
josh smith had the right idea, said he wasn’t going to bother anymore after nate ruined/won ‘06.
problem with the all star weekend is no matter how bad it is everyone watches it anyway, like me watching the first NAB cup game every year.
It’s quite simple when it comes to the dunk contest. put the big-name players in there that people will actually care about! Imagine a dunk contest with Lebron and Dwight. It wouldn’t matter who else was there.
The dunk contest has suffered ever since it went to the “rising stars” idea. For about 3-4 years there we had the tantalizing prospect of having a Vince / Kobe / T-Mac dunk contest and it NEVER happened. It COULDN’T happen. Ridiculous.
I don’t care how they do it. Get the big names in and it will work. Always has, always will.
lol @ Biggish C
Ron Artest should be policing all future All-Star games.
i agree with Ham. despite how bad it is, i’m always going to tune in. But it’s in serious danger right now. I haven’t spoken to one person who enjoyed this All-Star weekend. It’s supposed to be the funnest weekend of the year!
Yeah it was one of the worst I’ve seen. Shannon Brown doing a normal alley oop wtf..
Gerald Wallace should be cock-punched for his effort in the dunk contest… seriously… lined up and punched straight in the sack. Put that shit on Jerry-Vision!!
Gallo with the golden assist to Nate, DTA up in this biiiiitch!
That’s all Gallo’s good for: throwing a lob pass in a non-game situation.
I was seriously disappointed with Shannon Brown, thought he was going to FLY, everyone did. Nate was the best. Team Flight Bros are clearly the best dunkers around now, the NBA doesn’t have a monopoly on amazing athletic dunks anymore, in the same way they don’t on flashy streetball-influenced play. Hey that’s fine, it’s becoming an increasingly fundamentals and team-oriented league again anyway, but the NBA has lost the prestige of having the best athletic dunkers in the world, which seems like a shame compared to the golden era of dunk contests.
