This just keeps getting better. After his monster debut for the Stampede, Patty has one-upped himself by hitting the game-winning shot with 1 second remaining against Reno today. Desmond Farmer (lead all scorers with 27 points) was fouled and hit a layup to put the Big Horns up 108-107, but failed to convert the three-point play. Down the other end Sundiata Gaines missed a potential game-winning jump shot, before Patty grabbed the offensive rebound and saved the day. The Big Horns called time out but failed to score, giving the Stampede a 109-108 win. Here’s the box-score and recap for the game.
Patty’s stat line: 22 points (8-12 shooting!), 4-5 threes, 3 assists, 2 rebounds and 4 turnovers. Not quite the stat-stuffer from Patty’s previous game, but you’d probably trade that for the game-winning shot. You really couldn’t write a better script for a two-game career in the D-League so far. Could he be called up for tomorrow night’s Blazers game against the Clippers?
I’ll keep this post updated as news and reactions come through.
UPDATE: Jason Quick (from OregonLive.com) says Patty will play next game for the Blazers, this from his Twitter:
Patty mills will rejoin Blazers in LA for clippers game …mills had 38 points and 12 assists in Development League debut”
UPDATE: Looks like its confirmed, according to OregonLive.com:
The Trail Blazers have recalled point guard Patty Mills from the Development League and will have the rookie available for Monday night’s game in Los Angeles against the Clippers according to general manager Kevin Pritchard.”
UPDATE: Game highlights have hit YouTube:
UPDATE: News travels fast apparently – the Sydney Morning Herald reporting Patty’s recall to the Blazers

Called up against the Clippers according to Oregon Live
unreal. patty is the most in form aussie atm. GO PATTY
Recap finally comes up and you’d think that Patty was 2nd-fiddle, had a reasonable game, and happened to get the putback winner.
Idaho were down by 12 at 3-quarter time. If you look at the pbp he had 13p (FG:5/5 3FG:3/3) 2r 2a 1to in the last quarter. (Admittedly Ogunye had 14p in the 4th as well, it wasn’t just the Mills-show)
yeah, huge fourth quarter by Patty. certainly not a dominant performance, but he did what it took to win.
Patty Mills is gonna shit all over the NBA when he debuts and make the other teams regret not picking him earlier.
Patty has had gr8 performances in the D League. Which is the equal to the NBL in Australia. Exciting, but lets not to to ahead of ourselves. Portland have 3 pg ahead of him. Andre Miller signed a huge deal with them, Steve Blake is playing gr8, and Bayless has started to show promise. I dont see more than garbage minutes for mills, and I doubt he plays enough minutes to make a difference. I would love to see otherwise, but lets not get to excited. He will not get big minutes with this team unless they make a trade of either Mills, or Miller/Blake.

Mills has about 2 mins of action in the 2nd quarter for the Blazers so far. 1 assist and 1 foul, no shots attempted.
he is in the game highlight dishing off an assist to the wing, couldn’t see it clearly though, the feed was all herky jerky on nba.com. let’s hope he gets a few chances to show that quickness, that 3, and even that cute pull-up midrange game he’s got.
