regardless of how well Bogut is playing or how well he could play in the future. He won’t be an all star any time soon.

I was at the game tonight and he didn’t look at all like an All-Star. Really struggled in the post against Brandon Haywood and even when he was mismatched up against Jamison, he couldn’t get near the basketball. While he chipped in with some nice passes, he was the difference why they went down by two.

However… I did get a sweet photo and handshake from him. Massive hands…

I voted for Bogut… in a close call over “the Lopez”.

Mainly because I know Howard will start and I don’t want to see Haywood, Perkins, Dalembert, Bargnani, Noah, Shaq, Ben Wallace, Chandler or Jermaine O’Neal near an All Star game at all..

Unless they sit on the sidelines and act like Mutombo at a dunk contest!

There’s one thing that’s going to let Bogut down when it comes to being an all star, and you mentioned it yourself, he does what he does with very little fanfare.
The All Star game is about the highlight reel, it’s about monster dunks, alleys, killer crossovers, all the stuff that ends up on the top 10 plays of the week. Bogut doesn’t play a highlight game, and therefore, probably won’t receive the votes necessary to get him into the All Star game.
It makes me sick to think about it, but i rekon Shaq will get the nod again this year.

That being said, Duncan keeps getting into the All Star team (deservedly) and nobody has a more boring game than Timmy Robot, so maybe there’s hope for the big Aussie yet….

no its not just the Aussie bias. I legitimately have Bogut as my #2 center in the East right now. ‘right now’ being the key phrase there. long way to go till the All-Star game

also, I don’t think many NBA fans in general watch Milwaukee games, so thats probably why Bogut doesn’t get as much love as he should.
