If they don't resign him they are throwing away their hopes of competing next season. Especially since Hedo is clearly the guy they want with the ball in his hands down the stretch (when he does his 6'10" PG impression). If anything the Magic will move Alston, and Johnson, and will probably lose Gortat to free agency. If they trade right, they will have the cash to pay Hedo. This also means that any team with expiring contracts could get a cheap (gasol-like) trade for Skip & Johnson (And possibly a Gortat Sign & Trade).
