What you've seen this series is him being sent to double-team Howard, which has led to wide open shots for Shard after poor rotations by the Laker guards. I can't recall too many plays this series where Odom was playing straight-up defense on Shard and Shard got the best of him. Every time Howard gets the ball it's a double team, if he puts it on the floor its a triple team, if he goes up for a shot, any shot, he's hacked from all angles and forced to shoot FT's, or the refs don't call the hack and LA gets away with a "Steal". Dwight knows this, and so he kicks it out often to his 3pt shooters. The real faliure in games 1 & 2 was the poor shooting percentage of Turk, Rafer, Lee & Pietrus.
