It had to happen. Dwight Howard has been suspended for Game 6 for that ever-so-slight elbow glance in Game 5. If you haven’t seen it, here tis:
As Charles Barkley said about one hundred times in the TNT brodcast, that pretty much equates to throwing a punch, and for once I actually agreed with Charles. This means the series will of course go to a Game 7 – I don’t see how the Magic will stop Philly at home without Dwight.
It also means that the Dwight Howard DPOY t-shirt we’re giving away will be postponed a little while. The competition was slated for Game 6, and will now be postponed to EITHER Game 7 (if Philly win) OR Game 1 of the second round. Stay tuned for updates here. Any one who has already submitted their Dwight predictions can of course revise their numbers and re-submit, if they wish.
And on the topic of these playoffs all of a sudden becoming excessively physical (read: dirty), here are a couple of posts worth checking out:
- Finally Can Say It: Celtics are Dirty
- Bill Simmons take on fouls, flops and fiascoes
- By the Horns thoughts on Game 5 and the “non-flagrant” foul

I don’t know who ripped off who, but these 2 articles seem strangely similar…

I would say it’s Basketbawful’s material, as i recognise their writing style. So Bullsbythehorns, get your own material next time, i’m sure you can be funny on your own if you try.
Bulls got robbed of Game 5 by that no call on the flagrant.
there was a bit of fun in the hawks heat today. wade got fouled so hard he stayed on his feet.
“wade got fouled so hard he stayed on his feet” – quote of the day
and Chuck, i’m pretty sure the dude that writes Basketbawful is the same dude that writes By the Horns, so that would explain the similar styles. but well spotted.
Cool – didn’t know that.
and yes, definatley quote of the day.
lol @ Ham
damn, i’m pissed Dwight got suspended because i had a $10 wager with a mate on that game! what a joke.
