I think there is a restriction in place is must be 19 and one year after high school?

“Starting in the 2006 Draft, high school players were not eligible to enter the draft directly after graduating high school. The rules now state that high school players will gain eligibility for draft selection one year after their high school graduation and they must also be at least 19 years old as of the end of the calendar year of the draft.”

Your article was put together well, me being a Knicks and Curry fan and I have always have given him the benefit of doubt because he has shown glimpes of how good he can be. Maybe he just needs extra time to mature and come into his own. Well see how the rest of his career goes? And no doubt there have been some horiffic events in his life, But I wish him the best, Even if it’s not with us.

I am sorry about his daughter (although
I find it interesting that in the past he has always publicly denied that he was the father of this girl). While last week’s tragedy is udeniably an awful situation (one you would not want for your worst enemy), it doesn’t change the fact that Eddy Curry has been a complete disappointment as a basketball player. Please stop with the nonsense that he is just a big guy-Curry has been incessantly lazy about his physical condition virtually since
high school. Yes it is true that Isaiah overpaid him (what else is new?), but it would nice if for once this guy would show some pride and commit himself to getting in shape, especially for 11 mil. per year. And please, stop with the Ewing comparison-Patrick was a hall of famer and a super basketball player-the only way Eddy gets to the hall of fame is if he buys a ticket
(I’m sure the people working the food concession stands over there can’t wait for that day to happen).

Harry, Patrick Ewing had 17 straight games of scoring 20pts+, Curry 11, Houston 10. I will mention him in the same sentence, because it’s a fact. If he’s the 2nd guy in Knick history in that category, he deserves props. Perhaps Curry being in shape is not about him getting paid, but that he’s just a bloody huge dude. Larry Brown used to say he’d catch Eddy in his room before games on the treadmill, and it still did nothing. Of course he is not the hardest working player in the NBA, but you are pretty silly to say most of us would trade our lives with Eddy Curry. It has also been revealed the 9month year old girl was also his daughter.

Don’t blame him for being grossly overpaid, Isiah threw money at him, of course he’d take it.

I’m sorry, I have a difficult time feeling sympathy for a professional athlete making 11 million a year who is constantly out of shape. The man is fat-that is his fault. The only time he seems to show up is when its time to collect his paycheck. Everybody has problems-most of us will trade places with him any day. The recent events involving his family are obviously tragic-and he should take all the time he needs to deal with this-but it doesn’t change the fact that he has been a grossly overpaid underachiever as an NBA player-AND PLEASE, DO NOT EVER AGAIN MENTION EDDY CURRY IN THE SAME BREATH AS PATRICK EWING.
