I’m sure you all know about the off-season hostility between Shaq and Coach Popovich, after Shaq called him out for bringing the game into shame by resorting to the Hack-a-Shaq tactics. The obvious response there is “Hey Shaq learn to shoot free throws!”. But I think Coach Pop’s response today was even better.
The Spurs went to the Hack-a-Shaq five seconds into the game, a move that even shocked the TV commentators. I love it how their first response is so serious: “… and… it looks like they immediately have a Hack-a-Shaq call… I don’t believe it, 5 seconds in!” But of course it was all a rouse. Nice to see that Popovich has a sense of humour, a true golden moment.
